This place is a great addition to the Village Mall. The burgers are very good and so is their specialty milk shakes. We sat at the bar and the bar man was very quick to fill up our cups and take our order. They did have Freshed Squeezed IPA that night. Amazing and hard to find around here. They also have a cute little pickle bar where anyone can pick up what they want. I loved the extra crunchy and the hot ones. They place has some nice charm with the 100's of cans on the wall too. Go in and check it out!

Visited my sister in late June and 1st week of August. Both times, the entire family dined here for dinner. My sister and her family have dined here at least 12 times since they live 5 minutes away. The first time I dined here in late June, I had the Lola burger made medium well. Very tasty, juicy burger. I particularly like their portion size- not big portions, just more than enough. I also had the vanilla bean- apple pie & bacon shake- fantastic! The 2nd time I was here, last week, I had the Atomic burger. I had the ghost chili sauce on the side. Be careful, this burger already comes with jalapenos and pepper jack cheese, so it's already spicy. I used the ghost chili sauce sparingly. Again, the burger was juicy & moist. This place is also very kid friendly and a good kids menu. Since, it's the suburbs, tons of parking. (I mention this because I am from San Francisco, and parking everywhere is difficult).

first visit was good, this time, yek. so much has gone down hill. fries we ordered sat under the heat lamp for 20-25 minutes waiting for our burgers to be cooked. hubby got a mushroom/onion hamburger and said he could get better at any fast food joint. complete turn around from first visit. veggie burger was not the same, its now dry/crumbly/tasteless. they should have stuck with the original one. there is now nothing to bring me back again. maybe michael simon should be checking out his own joints rather than starting a new show to check out others. (or maybe he needs their new ideas for himself)!

Patties were definitely frozen. Toppings were great but that doesn't cover the fact that the patty was dry from being frozen. I can't go more then 3 stars for frozen burgers. Everything else was great. Pulled pork cheese fries were the best part of the meal. And the beer menu is top notch and they will fill growlers. Unfortunately they will only fill their crappy growlers.

The price isn't really shocking when you juxtapose it with the high quality food you get versus how much other top notch places charge. Great place, great food. Eat here, dammit.

I've had this place on my list to try for some time, and being that I'm a burger gal, I had to check it out. It seems like the few other times I've tried to stop in here, there was a tremendous wait to get seated, so I passed it up and swore "maybe next time" to get a spot inside. I finally made it in here yesterday with fellow yelper Margaret V for lunch, and I'm glad we did. We got there shortly after opening, and were seated right away. We reviewed the menu and noticed that it was short and sweet. The menu itself is interesting, and puts a new twist on burgers that I'm not familiar with. It's slightly off the scale and somewhat original for what I'm used to with burgers. Some of their signature stuff was interesting, but not quite off the mark. Their burger of the month was a very hot burger that I passed on. To much heat for me, but interesting to say the least. I know Micheal Simon has a good reputation for his food, but I was thrown off a bit by some of the items. For example, the fried bologna sounded a bit much for me. Mind you, I like Fried Bologna! But, some of the side items it came with turned me off to it. I'd be willing to try it if someone else ordered it, but was hesitant to try it myself. I went with something simple, which was the burger that came with regular stuff on it. I can't remember the name of it, but it was pretty good. Surprisingly, the fries and onion rings were a bit pricey. Okay, the onion rings were pricey. $6.99 for a side. That's almost the price of a burger. I passed and got their sting fries instead, which came with rosemary and garlic. Those were pretty good, but I wasn't overly impressed. Secondly, I don't get the pickle bar. I like pickles, but don't see the need for a pickle bar. I tried a few and they were pretty standard tasting. Overall, the service was pretty good and attentive. I would come back here in the future as I had a decent time and the food was good. I don't know that I would drive out of my way for this, but it's an original type restaurant so if it were between here and a chain, I'd rather stop in here.

Not living in Michigan this was a good place to go, as an excursion, not sure I would be a regular~ The decor is inviting and easy and our server, Arriana was very well informed on the menu and quite a delight for her recommendations AND personality. She's a keeper Michael Symon!!!!! Granted I had a Skinny Lizzy ( pretty much a basic burger with grilled onions) it was good~ just not that good. Ordered a choc milkshake (made with frozen custard, and interesting concept) also OK, just not Gr8~ My sister in law order Today's Special which was a Caprese burger with mozzarella, basil. She 'd it, just right for her was her comment~ my husband had Porky something.....Brat with pulled pork, cheese and possibly cold slaw w/ pickled jalapeños, he thought it was VERY good. The Lola's fries, excellent the Rosemary is a nice touch & the onion rings were OUTTA SITE!!! If it were just me my stars would be 3, and maybe I should be more adventurous in my menu selections since the others in my party were more impressed than I~ Still LUV, Michael Symon tho

I got the Mr. Porky brat and it was good. I was expecting a larger brat but it was still pretty delicious. Even though I was warned by my other half that the fries aren't worth the $4 price tag, I got them anyways. Standard fries...nothing special. I plan on going back at least one more time to try a burger, but the restaurant is forgettable - but may be a favorite for those in the immediate area considering the other choices in the area.

I truly have avoided this place on purpose, BUT was at S.E.E. optical & the smell of meat cooking was in the air, I asked Andrea is that aroma from Max&Ermas or B-Spot She said IDK, but B-Spot is worthy of your time So I walked over, and they did not open until 11:30 11:27 12 people in line waiting to go in. Lisa welcomed me, sat me & served me. I was open to anything , but Lisa pointed out the smash burger changes monthly Smash Burger Monthly Special on 12-4- was a Burger with Provolone Prosciutto Arugula marinated in balsamic with tomato & onion She was shocked that I did not want fries or a salad, but the burger looked like more than enough, it came out by 11:41!! It truly was a work of art to look at & it tasted far better than I expected!!! very noteworthy is the BUN It glistened,it glowed it had a shine, BUT the taste was fabulous & it wasnt dense or heavy at all Usually buns are a vessel to transport the meat, but this paired with the burger perfectly . Prosciutto on a burger was such a GREAT ADDITION! A+ I was also told about the pickle bar, today's choices numbered 7 Some were okay 2-3 were GREAT! Especially the marinated green tomato's to the point of addictive... yes I will go back & hope to try a $7 shake...

I rarely rate a restaurant with only one star. But Michael Symon either made a real mess of this place, or he left incapable managers in place to run it for him. Either way, our visit to B Spot was a real disaster from start to finish. I would give this place a C+ for concept and a sold and definite F for execution. Not only was the experience terrible, the food was bad, the prices were way to high as well. Our server did her best to try to accommodate us, but she didn't have much to work with. There were four adults, one child and one non-eating infant Saturday night. We put our name on the list so that we would not have to wait as long for a table, but when we arrived at the height of dinner time, we saw that this was not really necessary. There were lots of empty tables and I guess now that the word is out on this place. We saw that the beer menu was quite impressive and extensive with quite a few interesting and unusual selections; many of them on tap. What we didn't know was that although the long list had around 200 choices, as we ordered selection out of selection, the waitperson apologized over and over again and told us that they were out of our choices, First my wife tried. She asked for something that looked good to her and they were out of it. So she selected another. They were out of that too. So the server switched to me while my wife re-read the long list. I ordered, or attempted to order a Michigan dark Rye based beer. They were out of it. So I just picked another dark sounding rye based beer and fortunately, the server thought they might have it. She was to check, The other two adults went through the same non-sense and finally, after several misses, all four of found beers that were actually available. The beer debacle set the stage for all that followed. We ordered four different of the house specialty burgers, two different kinds of fries; one without the house seasoning and one of the house variety, and we also ordered onion rings. When the fries and rings arrived, it was almost impossible to tell the seasoned ones from the plain ones. We took our server's word for it. The fries were fairly cold. The onion rings were hot, but they were the generic battered ones and they came dark and greasy. Ironically, I think the greasy onion rings were the best item we ordered. The burgers were delivered, almost every one to the wrong person, and once we straightened that out, we tasted them, Mine was a New Jack City ordered "Mid-rare". Mid-rare was described as a hot red center. The New Jack City was to come with Chiorizo as well as other toppings. My burger ordered mid-rare was delivered medium well (I HATE THAT) and it came without any Chiorizo. To me, a well cooked burger is devoid of taste. My burger was devoid of taste. But we were so fed up at that point that I never bothered to send it back. The other comments from the table included; "We can get much better burgers at Red Robin." The burgers in a word were lousy. And they were served on a soft brioche style bun that was not toasted. So eating a wet burger on a non-toasted bun is almost impossible. The buns fell apart as we ate them. The reports on the rest of the burgers were not good. Even the child's cheeseburger was left unfinished. The server came back after clearing and asked us if we wanted dessert or shakes, which must be a specialty, and we all just wanted to leave. She made a polite comment about us being too full, but that had nothing to do with our retreat. The meal; 4 burgers, two orders of cold fries, an order or greasy onion rings, 4 available beers and a kiddie plate came to over $ 95 and with the tip we left around $ 115. Not a good food value was it? It was not a good dining experience either. I am quite sure that this place will make it to my Kiss of Death list soon. That list is reserved for places that were low rated that have how gone out of business. We'll see. I like Michael Symon's cooking demonstrations, but he surely made a big mistake investing in this place.

I want to give it a higher rating but technically I have had better Burger Spots. First and foremost you have to try it because of renowned owner Michael Symon. I love the vibe and the atmosphere and the food was good. The salted caramel brownie shake was to die for, I was not a big fan of the Shoe String fries and the Burger lacked a bit of taste but I was happy for the experience. To be the best place in Canada is the Works!!

We love this place. Its Michael Symons casual dining answer to gourmet burgers and dining. My visits here have been very positive and the staff is always warm and inviting and they have excellent knowledge of the menu. They take the time to explain the menu and the specials which is a huge plus. Most recently, I had the New Jack City burger which is a burger with chorizo sausage, avocado, salsa verde, roasted red peppers, red onion & pepper jack cheese. She had a Fun Guy which is burger with griddled onions, griddled mushrooms & blue cheese. Their is a pickle bar with a multitude of different selections for pickles. Some of them outright odd like pickled jalapenos. The fries are these little tiny thin fries that are served in a chrome plated holder type of thingy which is kinda cool. One order is enough for two. There are six different options for you to dip your fries in. They have several locations in Detroit and in Cleveland.

Excellent food. I had the atomic burger, it was hot but not overwhelming. The meat was cooked perfectly. The Lola fries are also tasty. A little expensive for a burger place in general but it is high quality food and service. My wife had the Lola burger and loved it. 4/5 stars for long wait and menu prices.

Best burger I've ever had. Fantastic onion rings and fries...adult milkshakes. Enough said.

Five stars... That's right you saw that correctly. First off I have to start by saying I was never a burger girl. Still it's not the first thing I want however; after eating my first one in Cleveland I discovered these are the best burgers i ever had! We used to drive three hours to Cleveland to eat there. Finally this year my favorite chef opened one here in Michigan. Everything here is great! The burgers are the most amazing perfectly seasoned burgers. They have great sides and salads as well. They used to have a cheese fondue with homemade chips that we love to dip our fries in. Very sad they no longer have it. Great beers and fabulous shakes. They also have a great pickle bar that you can't forget to stop at. For anyone looking for carryout we have gotten it from here to and everything was just as delicious. So do yourself a favor and go get a real burger at B Spot!!

I love the pickle bar and the lola fries are GREAT! The seating isn't most comfortable. The sauces are a great on any burger. Happy hours is fun and good prices.

I'd sum this place up as 'Average', with decent beer selection. Atomic Burger $8.99: Good heat that wasn't overpowering even with habanero peppers on it. Sadly 6 oz patty with a mediocre bun is not worth $9.00 to me. Onion Rings: Nothing great, had the same quality from a gas station in wixom the day prior for $2.50, vs the $6.99 here. Plenty to share. The pickle bar was refreshing and a nice touch. Was pleasantly surprised to see Tony Packos sweet hots in one of the tins. Also the Kimchi was very good. NOTE: If you are drooling over the French Onion burger, that was the special last month at time of this review. I actually went in there wanting that.

Great burger place! Very unique choices, and very nicely seasoned patties. Cool atmosphere. Pickle bar is nice touch. We tried: - the burger special (French onion burger) this was good! - fat Doug was surprisingly good - lola fries were delicious - chocolate shake awesome - Apple pie and bacon shake was very unique in a good way All in all great upscale burger place, but a tad pricy for 'burgers'.

First things first. Place was filthy. The floor was decorated with other peoples crumbs and that was a big turnoff. Energy was non existent and very stale at best. We actually were looking to leave when we saw the floor and the pickle bar but we decided to give it a shot. Server was not engaging at all. Looked like she worked a double and was spent. Asked how was the veggie burger was and she stated it was kinda bland. The food and drink was the best part of the experience, The regular burger, the Fat Doug and the veggie patty on a zorba salad. Burgers were juicy and very good. Fries with a rosemary twist were excellent. The salad was ok and the veggie patty was better than the server led us to believe. Overall a 2.5. The place was just very dirty and that was a big turnoff.

I stumbled upon this gem when I was searching for a yummy local burger joint. I'm familiar with The Village of Rochester so when this bad boy showed up on my search I wasn't familiar with the name and I was, for just a second, mad at myself for not knowing about a gourmet burger place so close to home. With that being said, I got The Lola burger which has a sunny-side up egg (duh this is a must-have), bacon, pickled red onions, and cheddar cheese. SO GOOD. The burger is cooked exactly to order. You want it Medium-rare? DONE. You want it medium? DONE. They actually know the difference between the two, too. Their beer menu is also quite extensive and, get this, they have alcoholic milk shakes. Why go anywhere else? You will want to get there earlier, though, because there tends to be anywhere from 30 mins to an hour wait but they take your phone# and call you when your table is ready so you can walk around the mall to occupy your time.

They really get you with the no substitutions because building your own burger is far more expensive because every little thing that you want adds up. I've been here twice now, and I'm happy that the food has been consistent. Both times I visited during a Saturday lunch rush. During my first visit, I was definitely eyeing one of their creations like the Lola (sunny side up egg) or the Gobbler (turkey). But I wanted to see if they could do just a regular burger and do it well, so I ordered maybe not-as-exciting choice of the cheeseburger with the lettuce, tomato and onion. It was fantastic. The meat -- cooked medium well perfectly. Juicy and flavorful. One of the best cheeseburgers I think I've ever had. Came back for a second visit for the "fun guy," which has griddled onions and mushrooms with bleu cheese. This guy was not as fun. Same juicy, perfectly cooked burger, but the cheese was overwhelming, especially when there aren't other flavors to tame it down. My suggestion is to go a little lighter on the cheese. The fries are the shoestring kind, but I like that they add rosemary. The pickle bar is nice, but nothing that was too exciting other than getting to add jalapeños for free.

Good, but not great. Good burger, cooked perfect, a little pricy but not too bad ($10 burger, no fries, decent sized burger, probably a 1/3lb.). I do like the pickle bar. Those Tony Packos sweet hots are amazing. The garlic dills are just mediocre, the pickled jalapeños are just pickled jalapeños, but it is a nice option to have. The pickled green tomatoes are... interesting? I tried one, they have sort of an odd flavor, but I'm sure they work on some of the sandwiches. I think they'd be great on something with some smoke. I ordered the Lola (fried egg burger), and put the sweet hots on one half and the jalapeños on the other half, coffee BBQ sauce on the whole burger, and I was more than pleased with my selection. The egg, however, was a bit over cooked. It had little to no runny yoke. A little disappointed there, but no bid deal, I still enjoyed it. They have a great draft beer selection. 21 taps on a quick count, and they all looked pretty good. If you're in the area and want a good burger, or burger and a beer before you go somewhere else over there, I would recommend it. I wouldn't drive across town just to eat here though. I actually prefer the burger at Red Coat, or Emory in Ferndale more, but they do have some interesting burger toppings and other sandwich options at B-Spot. I may try the pulled pork or the chick magnet next time I come in.

I guess I expected this place to be cafeteria style, order at the register and bring your food back to the table sort of place. I was excited to see it was actually a sitdown restaurant with the waitstaff and a full bar. I'm a big fan of Michael Simon, I love Roast, and was excited to try out the burgers. I was definitely impressed. Both of our burgers were delicious. They had a great variety of ingredients to choose from. One thing that I thought was really interesting was they had a pickle bar. You could walk up to it and there were all these different pickled ingredients that you could try. They also had a great local beer selection. We had great service, I thought everything was very reasonably priced. And the food quality was great. One thing I was little confused about was the sauce is on the table. There are six different sauces to choose from. It was very reminiscent of a lot of the local barbecue joints. However, I didn't quite understand how they went along with the burgers. Maybe a little explanation of the sauces in the menu, or from the server would've been helpful. Overall, great place! I'll be back.

I really enjoyed the meal l had here, got their monthly special burger alongside some local IPA which unfortunately can't remember the name since it was about a week ago. But the burger was juicy and delicious and the fries were fantastic. My only problem was that the bun used on my burger was a little stale, it's probably a 1/50 buns problem. Will definitely go back, it's a little pricy so maybe happy hours are the best times for this place.

Everything inside is so impersonal and sterile. But I think that's just a residual effect of shopping at the god-awful manufactured monstrosity of suburban hell that can only be cured by a month-long bender through the dregs of the Cass Corridor. But instead of voicing my disdain toward the Village, I'll focus on the meal. This experience all boiled down to ordering the wrong thing. When you're at a hamburger joint, order a hamburger. I didn't follow this known rule and rolled with a fried bologna sandwich. Yes, I'm a moron. There was nothing redeemable about the sandwich, because it's fried bologna and no matter how you dress it up, it remains one of the most putrid pieces of meat on earth, placing just ahead of human kidneys and anything from Golden Corral (I assume. I've never actually been to Golden Corral). They topped my sandwich with a fried egg and some sort of Russian dressing, but that didn't mask the taste or the texture of biting into a 2-inch thick piece of bologna. My equally incompetent sister ordered a super dry turkey burger that pales in comparison to most mediocre turkey burgers found at mid-scale sports bars around the tri-county area. Once again, we should have known better. We chose poorly. My sister lives in Cleveland, and the two of us have enjoyed meals at Lola -- another Michael Symon place that delivers killer pork products and is far superior to Detroit's Roast. Saying no to the swine is a sin I hope to rectify at B Spot's city location. And of course, I'll get a burger, too.

My amazing son took me here for Fathers Day, and I was happy! He is a foodie and knows a lot of great places to eat. The atmosphere was a lot different than I expected. It's pretty loud and not that comfortable. It's kind of typical for modern places these days. Our service was decent, but nothing tremendous. My son asked to have "onion crunch" on his burger and the waiter stated "we don't add items". HUH???? WHAT??? Then he asked for ranch for our onion rings and the response was "Michael Symon doesn't like ranch, so we don't carry it". Guess what? Millions of people do like ranch, so Michael Symon is a dipwad. I personally don't like ranch either, but I'd most definitely have it in MY restaurant. Whatever. On to the food: I had a burger, onion rings and s shake. The burger was cooked perfectly. I hate a sloppy mess burger, and this was definitely not that. It was perfect. It was tasty. The onion rings were good, but were not special. My shake was wonderful. I'm not a big fan of THICK shakes and this was really thick. That being said, it was tasty as all heck and it was huge. I would definitely recommend this place as a GOOD place to eat and get a good burger. The menu was cool and there were lots of cool items on it. However, there are better burgers to be had in the Detroit area. This is a B+ burger. The prices were not that bad. This restaurant is not a place I'd generally go out of my way to eat at. I would not be adverse to a group wanting to eat there though.

I'm actually wondering where the heck the fellow yelpers went to eat because I thought Bspot was awesome. We got the porky fries for an app, which were amazing. Crispy Fries, topped with yummy cheese sauce, very moist pork and pickled peppers. My mouth is watering as I type. I recommend adding the coffee BBQ sauce it (located on the table). For the entree we both got similar burgers, the Fat Doug and the special. Yummy bun, perfectly moist but not greasy beef patty, mine had bologna, his had pastrami, both had awesome cheese and mustard. Both were delicious, I would order mine again for sure. Atmosphere was cool, small and had a good vibe. Although I'm really surprised they out it in Shops on Main. Why not downtown? God knows it needs some more nightlife. Hopefully one day they move to a bigger "spot" and expand on the menu, other locations look to have a much bigger selection. Short review, go. You won't be disappointed.

Went to B Spot for the first time. I had high hopes for this place and was somewhat disappointed. I got the Lola burger which was ok. I have had better burgers elsewhere. My 7 year old got the kids cheeseburger slider. I posted the pick of the ridiculously small piece of white american cheese that was put on her slider. Dont think I will be going back anytime soon.

I was going to go for 3-stars, but I will give them the benefit of the doubt. I went in for lunch, sat at the bar and was immediately greeted. The place is really small, with the look and feel similar to a Pei Wei. She asked if it was my first time, and then she said everything was good with a "B" (yuck yuck). I made a comment to my friend that everything was very simple. Simple menu, simple beer/wine/booze selection. But that was a good thing, not every place needs to be everything to everyone. I saw the Fat Dan (I believe) and it had pastrami and coleslaw on the burger...with stadium mustard. I asked to have Russian dressing instead and was denied. Wait, what? So I built my own burger. Cheez Whiz (nice!), bologna, coleslaw, Russian dressing. Toppings are $1.49 by the way. The burger came out and it looks small. I don't expect a giant burger, but it was seriously small (like a regular cheeseburger bun from McDonalds small). The burger (looked to be 5oz) was cooked perfect, the brioche bun was nice, the whiz was a nice touch and overall it was really good. Don't bother putting bologna on your burger because you literally cannot taste it. The bill came and for 2 burgers, 1 fry, and 2 beers it was $40, $48 with tip. Will I go back? Probably for the novelty, but I'm not sure I will be a regular.

Here are some quick ordering suggestions for B Spot: -Lola Fries -Lola Burger -New Jack City Burger -Onion Rings -Smashers Special Burger (changes monthly) Love coming here for a burger. Way better than any place in the area. Make sure to try Packo's pickles in the pickle bar. My favorite sauce is the coffee BBQ. Happy hour starts at 3pm M-F. $5 for any bourbon and $1 Lola Fries are my favorites on the happy hour menu. They have other happy hour specials as well. Chef Symon has a winner. Wish it was a bigger place and more like the Avon Lake, OH location. Would have liked at least one more tv at the bar. Waitstaff can be hit or miss as I've had exceptional service at times and not so great service.

"No substitutions?" Ordered the burger with the sunny side up egg. And I wanted to substitute one kind of cheese for another. They told me it would be a "build your own burger" since they didn't allow substitutions. And that it would be $3.00 more !!!! if I wanted to have the other kind of cheese. I call BS. The waiter went back and checked to see if they could allow the change. The waiter said "just this once, we'll allow it." Coincidentally this is also the number of times I will ever eat here... "Just this once." I expect a restaurant to allow simple requests like this without a big hassle. Won't be back.

In an attempt to find Kruse and Muer, my fiance and I stumbled upon B Spot and decided to give it a try. We had never heard of it before so we had no clue about the affiliation with Michael Symon - part of me is glad I didn't know ... I think I would've been more critical if I had.... We went in at about 8pm this past Monday night. There were only a few other diners from what I could see and we were seated immediately. After browsing through the menu, we settled on the New Jack City (burger, chorizo, avocado, salsa verde, roasted red pepper, red onion, pepper jack cheese) and the Gobbler (turkey burger, lettuce, tom, onion, avocado, Sriracha mayo and swiss cheese) and Lola Fries (shoestring, with rosemary). Everything is a la carte, which I found inconvenient considering most places at least give you the side of fries with your meal but it is what it is. They also offer a pickle bar with a variety of pickles for your choosing. While we were waiting, I took a look through the different sauces sitting on the table. Ketchup, Lola Ketchup, Ballpark Mustard, Yellow Mustard, Coffee BBQ and one more that I can't recall. Lola Ketchup was interesting...it smelled like Ketchup with added cumin but it tasted like applesauce. It wasn't my favorite but it wasn't terrible either. I decided to just stick to the standard ketchup. Our food arrived in a timely manner and everything looked awesome! As I began to eat my burger, I was ready for it to be dry. I've never had much success with turkey in the past, so why would today be any different?? I was pleasantly surprised to discover that it was just the opposite!! Extremely well cooked, juicy, proportions were good so I didn't have vegetables falling out of the burger every time I took a bite - it was everything I could ever want in a turkey burger. I've never been one to finish my entire meal on a night out, however this time I finished my burger BEFORE my fiance! Unheard of. I just couldn't stop! The Lola Fries reminded me of the fries from Smash Burger, only with better execution. At Smash, the fries were soaking in oil and here they were cooked just enough to be crispy on the outside, soft on the inside with no drippy drippy. My fiance stopped eating part way through and said "This is the most satisfying burger I've had in a while, I don't even care that it was $10". We finished with a $33 bill for two burgers, fries, and one beer - some might say it's pricey for a burger joint, I say I have no problem paying good money for good food. So I thank you B Spot, for renewing my faith in burger places every where ;)

To be honest, I was a little disappointed with the food here. To start, I had high hopes for the pickle bar but was left unsatisfied and wanting more flavor in the different selections. However, the pickled green tomato exceeded expectations and provided extra zing compared to the others. I also felt the house sauces (on ever table) were also lacking in flavor overall. The burgers are big and juicy and they did a good job of cooking them to order (the medium was a nice pink in the middle but still warm). The burgers were good, I was just expecting more. The atmosphere is really nice and they have a good selection of beers. The weight staff is pleasant. Overall decent experience, just don't come in with high expectations.

This was our second B Spot experience--we ate at another one in suburban Cleveland late last year. We purposely headed out for this B Spot location because we had a couple of errands to run close by and thought a couple of "happy hour" burgers sounded like a great idea :). We arrived at 3 p.m., easily finding a parking space near the restaurant and got a nice booth inside. Great server, good burgers and quick service made this a nice late lunch/early dinner stop on a Friday afternoon. Nice location in the Village of Rochester outdoor mall made it really convenient, too. As with our last visit, we had the Lola fries ($1 per order at Happy Hour prices). We also had a couple of burgers ($7-$10 per burger), and I got a local (Rochester Red) draft beer ($3 Happy Hour prices). The deal wasn't quite as good as we experienced last year in Cleveland as the burgers were full price, but we did manage to get out of the restaurant for about $30 with tip. This place is definitely good for carnivore fans, and the burgers are great "slop burgers". I had a Thin Lizzy burger with onions, mayo and pickles...and my dining companion had a Fat Doug/Bob burger with pastrami. Fun decor---look for the motorcycle parts over the bar and the beer can "wall" nearby!

B Spot is now my favorite burger place in Detroit! I was impressed with the environment, service, and quality of the ingredients. I ordered the Jack City Burger and it was cooked to perfection. The Lola fries are the best too. Can't go wrong with rosemary! I will definitely be back. I'm a fan.

Solid burger. Tasted fresh. Could have used more seasoning. Had the BBq burger with brisket and pork crackling (pork rinds). Expected a bigger punch of flavor. Well cooked though. Shoe string fries were good. But I wasn't a big fan of their house catsup. Having earlier in the day already had the amazing experience of Chadds bistros catsup, this just tasted way too cuminy. I liked the yellow sauce, but it didn't really go with what I was having. We had onion rings which were ok. They needed a better sauce. Wife had a boozy milk shake, which was boozy, rich, huge, messy, and tasty. Pickle bar was nice, but like the sauces, didn't blow me away. Pretty pricey. For 2 burgers, fries b onion rings, 2 drinks, tax and tip was $57.

I've been hearing some good things about B Spot Burgers and since I love me some food, finally ventured out to try it myself. Yeah, the burger was pretty tasty.....I had the Yo! which had fried salami, capicola, hot peppers, shasha sauce and provolone cheese and my dining companion and I split an order of the Lola fries and onion rings. It's a little pricey for what you get and I was expecting a little bit bigger burger for $10. The pickle bar was a nice touch as well. The food is good, but in all honesty I probably wouldn't make another 25 minute trip out there for it. If you're in the area and want a bite, go and check it out. Like beer? You won't be disappointed.

I have been to some of Michal's other restaurants and I was very impressed. This one is just a college town burger joint. The burgers were OK. But nothing you couldn't get anywhere else. And kind of pricey. The best part of the meal was the french fries. They were excellent. They do have a big selection of beer on tap. This time out we were not drinking so it didn't play into the review.

Went there for the first time when they weren't crazy busy. Before we had gone in and left because there was an hour plus wait. Tonight we called ahead and were told not to worry there would be no wait. We were seated quickly and ordered. Daughter had the kids meal which worried me from the outset. A slider mini burger was requested. I hoped it would be bigger than a normal slider - which would end in disappointment. Lettuce, tomato and cheese was also requested. Wife ordered the special, a Kojak, which was a gyro burger basically. She requested hers medium. I ordered the Lola, medium rare. We also asked for Lola fries minus the rosemary. Daughters meal came early but unfinished. No lettuce or tomato and the cheese was all but indiscernible. We requested and quickly received the extra fixins but the slider was as I feared, tiny. We would make due by sharing from mine and my wife's but it was definitely too small a serving for anyone over maybe 5 years old. Our burgers arrived and I would bet they reversed our temperature requests. Wife's medium was medium rare and my medium rare was medium. They undercook versus most places which is fine by me as long as the order is understood. The burgers were unfortunately, just okay. Certainly not worth the premium cost. The fries were also unremarkable. And the sauces (on the table) and the vaunted pickle bar just didn't hold any appeal for us. Daughter got a cupcake at the end of her meal, it was as small as the rest. We wanted to salvage the meal so we ordered the special shake. It was a salted caramel and brownie shake. It was quite good, but I don't think it was 7 dollars good. Reminds me of the 5 dollar milkshake in Pulp Fiction at Jack Rabbit Slims. We should have ordered the shot of rum. That might of taken the edge off. We had no complaints with the service. All in all we tabbed out at 42 dollars before the tip which is kinda ridiculous when you consider what we got. We decided that we could get more, better burgers and fries for a lot less at Red Robin. Which is pretty sad when you think about it. I'm just glad I had the Lola at B Spot and didn't pay extra for the privilege at Symon's Roast in Detroit. Not that I would buy a burger there anyway. 2.5 stars rounds to 3. I don't think we will be going back. Burgrz around the corner is another, better alternative.

I was very excited to try B Spot out since I am a huge fan of Michael Symon. I tried the Fun Guy Burger and the Special burger of the day, both of which were delicious. After reading some reviews we also shared an order of onion rings, which I wouldn't miss next time. But for the real show stopper.....the Pumpkin Pie Milkshake! Omg, it was heaven in a cup, it had real pieces of pie crust and if you want you can add booze to it (which we did not). Very good experience and food!

Good service and good food. No complaints here. My bf n I ordered the gobbler, BBQ burger, onion rings, Lola fries, and chocolate milk shake. The turkey burger was the best one I've had in a long time. Will def be back again!:)

it would have gotten a better review had this not happened. my friend "can i have the child's grilled cheese, its cool if i can't". waiter "i'll make an exception this time". waiter when the grilled cheese arrived, "the cook wanted to know who ordered that since there aren't any children in here". he mentioned it a couple more times. don't let someone order something if you are going to make them feel crappy about it. especially if that is just a request. and especially if her three friends all order burgers, sides and multiple beers. the burger was itself was good. not the best i have ever had (kumsa's corner). I really liked the buns, the egg and the sauce that has banana peppers as a base. the rosemary fries where really, really good. we also came on a saturday night and it closes at 10pm. so don't plan in staying late. love, juston

First off I was curious about this place since opening. We went there and my first reaction was, that it looks Asian, well it was stir crazy before a burger place. Design is ugly, but oh well. The texting when the table is ready is good. The hostess not so much. She was rude and cold, at least you have a job! And the food. Food was good I admit. Price and service not so. No burger comes with fries it's all a la carte. 4 dollars for skinny fries with hardly any potatoe??? Think steak n shake! And burger is great. Don't be deceived by the size, the bread is huge and the burger itself is about 6 oz. Ripoff. Also no substitutions on toppings! Want a shake? Try 6-8 bucks for one! And they have a lame pickle stations with no regular pickles, go figure! Unless your desperate stay away from here or maybe try it once. It is good just ridiculous on your wallet.

First visit had a burger, which was just ok. The pulled pork on top was dry and the coleslaw was meager. This time had a brat, which was plain and again had some dry pulled pork on it. Worst part was the DRY bun. I've seriously had a better brat at home without really trying. Fries and shakes are very good though, and an extra star for better service. Not for me.

What an interesting joint. We ONLY went for drinks so I'm no experienced foodie at this place. I was boring on this visit and got wine, but the bro-in-law enjoyed a bacon apple pie milk shake with a shot of bourbon and it was very interesting. I liked the mix BUT I would suggest that the restaurant consider using REAL bacon instead of bacon bits... its just not the same. I'd even go as far as recommending they try finely chopped maple bacon for that tasty treat!

Waited 20 minutes before a server came to our table. Burger was decent. I loved that you can add pastrami and fried egg. Pickle bar sucked. Wouldn't go out of my way for an alright burger and slow service.

    (2)
  • Alex K.

Mediocre burgers at a not so mediocre price. All burgers come al a carte, which makes things expensive and quick. The "pickle bar" is less than exciting with some sweetened pickles to add to your burger and regular favorites like jalapeños and banana peppers. The only decent thing about this place is their beer selection. They're sticklers for substituting anything on their burgers. Average place, stop by only if you'll be having a liquid dinner.

So I just recently moved to Rochester Hills and I am eager to try out the eats in this area...B Spot Burgers was one of the first! Coming from Madison Heights, the Rochester area has a completely different vibe...more upscale-y, so you can pretty much figure out what you're going to get out of a restaurant, especially at the Village. Okay so...let me start with my gripes first: 1. Wait was 20 minutes at peak hour (6 PMish) on a Tuesday evening, it wasn't too bad though because we killed time at the bar. 2. We were waiting for our 3rd person and ordered fries while we were waiting...the waiter told us he could make an exception this time, but we have to usually order everything at once...WTF?! So we can't even sit there and order appetizers while we wait for our friend? If anything they would be making more money off of us...kind of dumb if you ask me. What I found weird: My friend ordered a bacon cheeseburger and they forgot to put the bacon on, so the waiter offered to bring it back and put bacon on it and then bring it out...which I think was kind of odd, but he said people are "picky" sometimes about how their burger is made. How high maintenance can people be at burger joints?! Just add your own bacon if they forget it! Which brings me to my next point...I ordered a chocolate milkshake...it was okay, nothing special (Smashburger beats all on amazing shakes...must be that damn Haagen Daaz ice cream!!!), but they brought it out in that tin container thing with a glass. The guy who brought it out offered to pour it in the glass for me, which I thought was silly and I declined, but then the waiter came by and offered to pour it because he said it's thick and easier to pour it standing...so I gave in...but again, I thought this was kind of high maintenance. BUT, what do I know? :P Ok so on to the awesome points: 1. Pickle bar, which my fiance was a fan of. Also, I Love that they have kimchi as an option. 2. I had the atomic burger, which is currently burning a massive hole in my stomach but it was SO worth it 3. The rosemary fries are bomb.com 4. You have to try the coffee BBQ sauce, it was delicious! 5. Otherwise the service was fantastic except for not being able to stagger out what you want to order while you are waiting...they need to change this policy, it could leave a bad first impression. P.S. Everything fried is cooked in lard...kind of gross even though the food was pretty good, but just something to keep in mind...not that you will go to a burger place planning to eat just lettuce.

Expectations can drastically sway ones opinion of a restaurant and food. B Spot was entered with those expectations that come with a celebrity restaurant tucked away in a corner. Average at best is what we were met with. The restaurant is slightly larger than it appears outside, and the bar was packed(due to the World Cup and excellent beer selection). The high note was Rhonda, our server. She was absolutely awesome. We ordered lola fries(fries with rosemary), the grilled cheese and a bacon cheeseburger. The lola fries were okay, but nothing to write home about. The grilled cheese was disgusting. I love basil, but a full layer of whole leaves is wayyy too much. The cheese lacked much flavor, but the sourdough bread was good. The burger was just...a burger. Yes, I could have gotten any one of the specialty burgers, but if you cant make an exceptional bacon cheeseburger, why do others deserve a chance? B Spot gets a C Spot. I would rather head across the street.

1 Star is for awesome beer selection. This place really falls short, specially since it is owned by a culinary star. Been here 3 times, this was the last time I go back with hopes it got better. Mediocracy and below is the trend with 95% of restaurants today. The good was the salad and beer and that is where it ended. The rest, 6 oz hockey puck, over pressed burger is what it is. who cares that pat La Freda sells it, it sucks. Fish and chips, is frozen Cod which is fine but this was not even the good frozen Cod. Pulled pork on the fries pretty tasty, however the way the cheese was melted in a clump on some very thin fries just does not work. Chicken tenders tasted foul "cheap chicken", onion rings had a caky thick batter, more like a donut onion ring with some corn meal in it. I love crispy Pork skins and I just had a very bad version of it here. The first batch brought out, I could have busted my teeth on, the second were hot and fresh, not seasoned and not dehydrated enough which makes them hard. Better made in Detroit makes them better. Young manager came to table to ask how everything is and I started to talk about the burger, however he knew not much about food to understand where I was coming from, I was talking to a wall. He tried to tell me that it was just a very lean burger as if that is a good thing. so I stopped talking. Here is the really bad part, my son's root beer float had a hair in it. Even worst, we took left overs home, my wife pulled some of the batter off of the onion rings as she was eating them and found a a short bent nail embedded. Are you kidding me, how do you get a nail in the O rings batter? what else gets in there? kool concept, can be awesome, but this is no better than Ruby Tuesday's or Red Robin with nice design, hip atmosphere and big name behind it to draw people with.

Service was great but the food was unremarkable. Ordered a chocolate espresso milk shake and it was mostly flavorless. Rosemary fries were like warm and did not taste like rosemary at all. Atomic burger was hot but flavorless. Best bet: onion rings.

Here on a business lunch today due to recommendations from some friends. While it was late afternoon, easy to get a booth. Great service and the food beat expectations. Beer list looked decent, but with work not able to dive deep. Had the atomic burger and co worker has the porky. Split some fries and onion rings. Gotta go with the coffee bbq sauce. Will be back with the wife!

This is a great place! I'm a big fan of Michael Simon's Roast in downtown Detroit and this is another success. B-spot is situated in the outdoor mall in Rochester Hills, so great surrounding area. They have some very unique burgers on the menu and they serve beer! Also have some self serve toppings which is pretty cool as well. Not the best burger I have had but it is REALLY good and always a great choice. The only reason I don't visit more often is because it is so far from my home. I will definitely frequent more often once the Partridge Creek location opens!

WOW! I'm glad we waited a little bit to let the B Spot work out the "new restaurant kinks." This place was awesome! We ended up sitting at the bar and ordering a few drinks while waiting for the patio to open up. The bartender was SO nice and helpful that we ended up just sitting at the bar to eat. He gave us samples of every wine and beer we had questions about. My husband ordered the New Jack City Burger and I tried the Pulled Pork Sandwich. We split the Lola Fries -- sea salt and rosemary, yum! We both loved our sandwiches. The Pulled Pork was briney and delicious, a perfect match for the creamy avocado and the grilled onions. My husbands burger was equally as good! They have homemade BBQ sauces that complimented the food well. The best part is, it's not overly expensive. You'll spend about $7-$11 for a burger, and around $4 for a side. For the quality of the food, that's nothing. Plus, FREE PICKLE BAR! Aw yeeeeeeeeeeeeah!!! We will most definitely return!

It's ok.....not the best but ok. The burgers are small and. Bit to dry (over cooked), wife was not impressed. I hate to bring this up but if you are looking for a great unique burger try CHOMP in downtown Rochester.

I asked the waiter how is the turkey burger? Honesty he said that the turkey burger is as great as a regular burger. I ordered the turkey burger. Literally I took one bite & never touched it again. I would not recommend coming here. How ever the pickle bar is really good! Beer & cocktails are good!!!

Have been really looking forward to going here since it opened. Well finally went, and to be honest a bit disappointed. The place is pretty cool looking inside, service was good, beer selection good, and the menu looked great. Prices of a burger are pretty high, of course it's a gourmet burger. Upon arrival at the table, looked great,. But after a couple bites, my thought was ehh average burger, nothing to brag about. Fries were ok, thin, served in a cup. Overall really an average food experience.

Something so simple but tastes like a complex puzzle that comes together easily. I had this burger called the Fat Doug which had coleslaw, and pastrami as part of the toppings.. Who would of known that out of all the thousands of different burgers I have eaten this would rank as one of my favorites. Unbelievable! Forced me to go out of bounds and order again after inhaling it. The BLT.. my jaw hurt trying to keep up with smashing it down.. so good.. Server gets major points for the suggestions I doubted.. Thus place will prove a doubter wrong..

I've got business visitors this week and they like burgers. On previous visits, I've taken them to Red Coat, One-Eyed Betty's and the like. The celebrity chef connection with B Spot was interesting to them. So, off to B Spot we went. Arriving towards the end of happy hour, we had just enough time to get a drink special and place our orders. The food came out quickly. The fries were hot, crisp and flavorful. After all, they're cooked in lard. My New Jack City Burger was cooked to order and full of flavor. The oft-mentioned pickle bar was not as extensive as I had expected. Maybe six or eight offerings. My favorite was the kimchee. You don't expect to find that in any old burger joint. Other highlights included a solid bourbon selection ($5 happy hour special) and a wide spectrum of beers to choose from. I'm definitely headed back to try different burgers and maybe even one of the Bad Ass Shakes. I was just too full to try a Vanilla Bean Apple Pie Bacon shake. But it has a place on my bucket list.

Thought it was okay. I purposely waited a bit in order to catch them on a night/at a time when they wouldn't be absolutely hammered with customers. Sunday night at 8:30PM functions for that purpose. I'll say it up front: for what they're offering, it ain't cheap, and it's nowhere close to the neighborhood of cheap. Expensive is the right word, and it's somewhat wince-inducing when you want things like a carbonated beverage or a side to go with your already-pretty-pricey burger. I purposely only ordered the sandwich by itself since I wanted to focus on that, and that only. Water was my beverage of choice. No charge for the H2O. My Lola Burger was $9.99, and came with beef, pickled onions, bacon, a fried egg, cheddar (nixed by me, of course) and you could dress it up with whatever you wanted from the free pickle bar. More on that later. The burger I had was out very fast, too fast, in fact. There had been a mix-up in the kitchen on the ticket, and they brought out the wrong ones. No big deal, as they'd brought out my dining companion's side salad with them, and were able to leave that. So, wrong burgers, right side. It should be noted that no silverware is brought at all unless you order something deemed "silverwarish" such as the side salad. That's right: you need to ask for silverware. As well, napkins are really poor paper towels on a spool right there on the table. They're bad napkins, though they make decent coasters for the beverages (which, frankly, I shouldn't have to provide). Having been to Roast, I was expecting fewer frills...but I didn't expect it to be *this* lowbrow. Not at these prices, anyway. Service this early can't really be held to too high of a standard, and such was the case tonight. They've got *gobs* of employees right now, and while there are a lot of them walking around apparently "doing things", basic essentials like making sure each table has an aware server seem to be falling by the wayside. We were seated very quickly (called ahead, but it wasn't even necessary tonight), but then no one came around, not for a beverage order or to bring us water, not to tell us what the Smasher's Special was, not to greet us and tell us "I'll be your server tonight." Not until I had to get up, go back to the hostess stand, and say to the three of them (BTW: really? Three hostesses?) "Can you tell me who our server is?" did anything happen: they were immediately apologetic, answered my question about the Smasher's Special, and got things better organized. Apparently, the person who was supposed to take our table, didn't...and didn't bother to tell anyone. Perfect. That being said, once our new server did come, he was fine. Like I said, though, it's early to be picking on service issues, as long as they're not catastrophic, which this wasn't. The food itself was good, save for the far-too-stringy bacon on each of the burgers. I ate mine, but it wasn't as crispy as I'd asked for it to be (not worth sending back for it, though), and my dining companion's bacon was even more stringy than mine was...and went uneaten. The beef itself was good, a *perfect* spot-on medium. The egg was done correctly, the onions were decent (I would have preferred grilled onions, though), and it came together nicely. For $9.99, I think it should have been bigger, but what was there was tasty, and there's one more value-adding aspect that should be mentioned: The Pickle Bar. This is centrally located in the restaurant, and it's meant to be used by those who order sandwiches and want to load them up. On offer are kosher dill pickle slices, jalapeño peppers slices, kimchi, green tomatoes, and a few other things that I can't remember currently. I really, *really* liked the pickle slices, both on my sandwich and by themselves. The kimchi was pretty standard kimchi...it didn't send me anywhere good or bad, but I didn't have too much of it, since I'm not crazy about it. The green tomatoes were *very* sour, and I couldn't eat them...just too far pickled with vinegar for my tastes. The Pickle Bar is a nice thing. So, bottom line: two burgers, one side salad, and a Pepsi, with tax and tip, totaled $35.00. That's a lot of cheddar for what we got. I could have had some fries, I suppose, but then that total would be up to (or possibly over) $40.00. A shake is $6 plus tax and tip. This is far more a "It's hip! It's new! It's expensive!" thing than it is a culinary delight. As I said: it's okay. Having said that, I'm not rushing back any time soon, and Redcoat Tavern doesn't have anything to worry about. For Symon's better burger and bargain, I'll happily revisit Roast during Cocktail/Happy Hour and get that burger that's *at least as good* for $4. I guess I was expecting more, for more money at B Spot. I'm sure, at the very least, that the service will improve given time. I'm not as sure that the value will improve the same way.

Just had another great time at B Spot today and thought I should comment. We tried everything--from the old fashioneds and bloody Mary's--to the espresso shakes and porkys fries. Nothing disappointed and it was ALL delicious. They even sent me a text to tell me I had left a book...and called when they found my wallet on the floor (thanks to the baby who ransacked my purse). Daniel was our server and he also rocked it. :)

Good: chocolate shake was thick, chocolatey and abundant Better: piggy fries, a huge mound of thin cut French fries topped with pulled bbq pork, chilis and cheese sauce Best: the Lola burger, which was literally one of the greatest burgers I've ever had the pleasure to eat. Not so good: my wife's turkey burger was a little dry and lacked a ton of flavor

Tried the atomic burger. Easily my favorite of the three I've tried. Don't be scared off by the habanero sauce or the other ingredients. Yes, it's SPICEY but not the kind that makes it unpleasant or makes you sweaty. It's really just a short burn and then it's gone. Very well done IMO. (Also had another vanilla bean apple pie and bacon shake - I can't resist it. I did, however, pass in the bourbon this time. Was lunch in a work day, after all. ) :)

I really like this place. Attended with spouse, preschooler, and a friend. Atmosphere is great and I have been excited to visit this place for some time now. I like how they take your cellular # and text you when your seat us ready. Its different and so what if Michael Symon wants to call me. I had a bacon cheeseburger, spouse had the cheeseburger with grilled onions, friend had the Lola which comes with a sunny side up egg. Kid had grilled chicken tenders with apples and a chocolate banana shake that had toasted marshmallows on top. Kids food was great, chicken was perfectly moist. My burger was supposed to be medium and spouses was to be well done, and we swapped burgers because of preferences (not a terrible ordeal, but temp at an iron chef's restaurant should be correct). Friend really liked her Lola and we had fries and onion rings for the table. Beer selection is awesome, nice whiskey selection as well. Highlights were onion rings, spouse's burger, and kid's shake. I need to sample more items here and will definitely return. Oh and if you don't want to wait to get in here, the Burgrz place across Adams road is always going to be worth visiting, providing adult beverages are not a requirement to pair with your burger.

Getting the burger of the month is always a fun time, also a must is the fries with their house sauces. In my time frequenting the place, going for lunch is your best bet at timely service and the best quality.

I am fan for several reasons but first let me share why I am not giving this new spot a 4-5 star review. I ordered a medium and my burger was well done and dry. This is a huge deal for a place that is supposed to be an upper scale burger joint endorsed by an Iron Chef. They even have a temperature gauge on the menu explaining if you order medium it will be a true medium. This was very disappointing and the only reason I did not say anything was because I was meeting my wife and mother for a belated mothers day lunch. Anyways, I feel because they are so new this can be fixed...hopefully. I am pretty sure if chef Symon knew they were selling well done burgers as medium he would not be happy. Now for the reasons I liked the B Spot....great beer selection, great fries, love the pickle bar and great onion rings. Our service from Janet was great as well. My Mother, Brother and Wife all loved their burgers. Their's were over cooked a bit as well but mine was cooked through hard. My wife said her veggie burger was one of the best she has had.

Best burgers and brats in Rochester and don't get me started on the fries - they fry in LARD!! Yummy!!! The also have this awesome homemade pickle bar that adds a whole new layer of flavor to your meal. This is the type of restaurant you want to take your friends to so you can take credit for introducing them to it years later. The service is great! Short wait for the table - about 25 minutes but they texted me when our table was ready so we window shopped while we waited. Awesome food and great experience!

I was speaking with my library colleague and friend, John Robertson yesterday, and he asked me about the new B Spot in Rochester Hills. John and I went to one of the B Spots near Cleveland on our way back from a memorable library "conference" a year or so ago, and he knew I had been talking about checking this joint out. Our conversation reminded me to write this. This was a great experience. With a few exceptions, it was pleasant, comfortable, tasty, and efficient. I believe it was better than my first experience in Ohio. We ordered three burgers. My friend ordered the special, a French Onion burger, medium rare. She loved it! It had fresh crispy crunchy bacon, great Swiss, and other ingredients about which she raved. Unfortunately, I have forgotten them. Her father ordered the Porky, medium or well (?). It was good, but probably the weakest of the three. Of course, I am spoiled by the pulled pork from Lazybones. With so many other good-looking choices on the menu, I am not sure I would recommend this one. I had the Yo!: a burger with a big hunk of fried salami, capicola, hot peppers, shasha sauce, and provolone cheese.Excellent! The salami was perfect, the hamburger was of high quality, the capicola was a nice touch, and the shasha sauce gave it just a little kick. The only drawback was the hard texture of the salami. It clashed a bit with the soft, juicy, near bloody burger. I would definitely order again. The bourbon selection is quite large and seems complete, with a decent mix of bottled, tapped, corporate and craft beers. I also ordered a Bad A** Shake: Chocolate Espresso. It lived up to its name and flavor. Much better than the shake I had in Cleveland. Service was fine. Adequate. The ambient noise was a bit loud. The price was a tad high -- $70, without tip, but that was about $30 of various drinks, fries (excellent with rosemary), onion rings -- but not outrageous for an occasional. Downside, and the reason this place will not receive five stars from me: it does not take reservations. So, the wait was fairly long for an early evening Thursday. We "called ahead" on the way at 5:00, arrived to the restaurant at 5:25, and were seated a bit after 6. And it got busier, much, as the night progressed. A weekend evening at 7 pm will be tough. And there is not much space to wait, if the bar is filled with others waiting. It ticks me off that a restaurant does not take reservations. An eatery, no matter how good, is never a destination for me. It is part of a package. Not being able to plan for the rest of the package makes me seek other venues. That is how I found Lazybones; I just was not longer going to wait for two hours at Slow's -- no matter how good they are. So a good experience, with almost exceptional food. Sadly, I will probably not frequent regularly with the wait and distance from Hamtramck. I would just as soon wait at Red Coat, a much shorter distance and a comparable experience.

Atomic burger was awesome, juicy, spicy. Wimpy Lola fries, need hearty 'steak fries' option, with rosemary please. Service was quick, outdoor seating was a bonus, but be quick, snow is coming real soon!

Horrible burgers. Buns were cold. 1st time was a bad experience, I gave it another shot- still the same outcome. I'll never step foot in there again.

I was not super impressed with my veggie burger or the pickle bar. Veggie burger tasted like something I would buy at the grocery store. The pickle bar was tiny with about 3 different choices. Their fries are amazing though and they do have a great beer selection. Would go back but only for beer and fries!

Definitely wanted to try this spot as soon as I heard Michael Symon was opening a restaurant near the east side. Love his restaurant Roast! Was very happy with the atmosphere, service and food!! The thin Lizzy burger is ridic!! Sooo good and juicy! My bf loved it so much he ordered another! Only thing I wasn't too keen on was the stadium style brat. Too much deli style mustard on it to even get a taste of what it's really about. Def recommend this place to others!

I had the turkey burger. It was good and I loved the fries. I think the service could have been more attentive and the tables are quite small.

There's a lot to like about this place. I had come in here the weekend it had opened and I don't think to many people knew about the place so it was pretty quiet. I wouldn't be able to say much about the noise level now, a month later, but I'd imagine it's much like many other places: noisier the later it gets. I enjoyed the refined look of the place. It was nice without it seeming to try too hard. As we walked in, everyone was really nice. We talked to a couple waiters/waitresses and there was a few who were partnered together since they were still in training, but everyone was nice and despite having just opened knew a lot about the food. Honestly, all the burgers sound awesome. I believe I got the Lola burger, and it was really great. At first glance it is more vertical than it is horizontal, but this place is no McDonalds. I always found burgers from Culvers, Five Guys, and Burgerz to be really good, quick burgers but I find B Spot a step above. Despite its vertical shape it was still plenty filling but difficult to eat. I used a fork and knife shamelessly and I managed to keep my shirt clean. Fries do not come with the burger, but their rosemary herb skinny fries are actually the best fries I've had. Truly the best. I miss those fries. I also had a milkshake. It is a big milkshake. You can share it between two people and you'll have each had a very full glass. It was also awesome. I do not know where they get the ice cream but it only rivals Cooks Dairy Farm ice-cream. It was great. And this place is great. Maybe its gotten a little bit more busy but so long as you're not looking for a romantic getaway I wouldn't see a problem. The bar is segregated from the dinning room, so I couldn't imagine it being that noisy even during peak. I would absolutely recommend the place. If you come here and you get something you don't like - try again. The number of burgers they had and how different they were from each other was surprising. No doubt there's something in there for everyone.

This was the first time I dined here. Waiter seemed very disconnected and wasn't the best at giving suggestions for meal choice. I ended up getting corn beef fries and a "bad a**" shake. Well the fries were really good but I the only way I was able to digest the corn beef was due to the added vodka to the vanilla shake............will I go back? Nan

I've only been here once but my experience was excellent. It's a little small and cramped on the inside but the atmosphere was awesome and the food was great. The staff was very friendly as well. I ordered the Atomic burger and it came just as I had ordered it and was delicious. They have a pickle bar which is a little different but kind of cool too. They have a really interesting looking wall decorated from top to bottom all with retro beer cans. I'll definitely be back again soon. :)

The portions are small and expensive. It doesn't taste bad but the value for the price just isn't there. This time, three out of four burgers weren't cooked to the right temperature. We needed drink refills halfway through our meal and didn't get them until we were finished eating. This was my second time here and I won't be sad if I don't come back.

Great meal! After going to a Roast we wanted to give B Spot a try. I had the Porky burger with pulled pork and coleslaw on the top and it was great. We tried a total if four burgers and all were amazing. My favorite was the Fat Doug that had Pastrami, coleslaw, stadium mustard and Swiss cheese. Yummy!!! The rosemary fries were delicious (just like at Roast) and we also sampled their pickle bar. It had banana peppers, pickled red onion, pickled green tomatoes, pickles etc. Make sure to try an adult milkshake before you leave too. I recommend the vanilla or orange cream-cycle. Make sure to check it out! I'll go back to try a brat next!

I have been here a few times since it opened. The most recent visit is was on a Tuesday in August with my two kids. I really think that they have done a good job of creating some unique combinations of flavors that I like. My issue is with the quality of the meat that they are using and the way it is cooked. I thought it was very mediocre. For this reason I can only give it three stars.

You could have a better and more satisfying experience if you went to 5 Guys and snuck in those little airplane bottles of booze and made your coke into a rum and coke. The actual facility and staff are nice though, so there's that. :)

Always great to have a very different burger versus other places.. This is not your average run of the mill burger menu...I always enjoy the "Yo" burger with salami and banana peppers... Just the right amount of bite and saltiness for the taste... Don't miss out on the beer selection either!

My husband and I decided to give this place a try a few days ago. We knew it would be busy so we called ahead. When we arrived there of course, was a huge line - we were told it would be about 20-25 minutes but we only ended up waiting about 10. Its really small inside - but we really liked how it was decorated. They have a cool beer and bourbon selection - they offer lots of Michigan beers which we really like. Our server was really friendly and knowledgeable. I thought the fact that the servers have to ask guests if they "know who Michael Symon is" was kinda cheesy - but whatever, I get it. We both ordered burgers - which were really good. I built my own. LOTS of toppings to choose from. My husband got one of "Michael Symon's" creations - The Lola burger, which he really liked. We both asked for ours cooked medium well. Mine was perfect - my husband's was a little undercooked for his liking. But he still enjoyed the burger. The way the burgers are cooked seem to be the most common issue amongst all of the yelp reviews. Hopefully the chef's at B Spot get this under control soon. We split a side of the Lola Fries which were also really good - however a very small portion for $4. Though we were both very full, we decided to each try a shake. We got them to go so, unfortunately we didn't get to add any alcohol to them. I got the chocolate banana marshmallow shake - it was really good. Of course my husband had to try the vanilla bean apple pie & bacon shake. Honestly - I was expecting it to be gross. But to my surprise - it was really good. Interesting - but really good. It had really good bacon in it and chunks of apple pie. We both liked it a lot. Overall - we enjoyed our dinner. It was a little expensive (in my opinion) for what we got but, as long as the food is good - we are fine with that. Was it the best burger I have ever had? No. But it was good. We will definitely be back. Would love to go for Happy Hour. Looks like they have some decent specials.

After longingly looking at this place under construction while I shopped at Trader Joe's, I am not left disappointed. Great beer selection, smiling waitstaff, and delicious food. Don't miss the pickle bar and for sure get onion rings and dip them in the Shasta sauce. My burger was perfectly medium as requested and I am happy to pay the prices. This ain't Big Boy...take the rugrats elsewhere if you are going to complain about the cost.

This restaurant is inconsistent with their food preparation. This is why I'm giving it low star value. First time, I had the stadium brat, which was cooked well on a grilled bun. I thought the bun was way too large in proportion to the brat but I still enjoyed it. The next time my hubby and I went, we both had the stadium brats. The brats were lukewarm and the huge bun was not grilled. We've had the hamburgers which are tasty, even though they need to be seasoned. This is quite an expensive place for burgers and brats. I don't like the presentation of the food either. They serve the food on round plastic trays with a paper liner. When you eat the brats, which requires knife and fork, the paper shreds.

Good concept, but they need some tweaks. Burgers 'cooked to order' were perfect size - not too much, and not too little. Had the Thin Lizzyburger with griddled onions, mayo, dill pickles, minus the cheddar cheese for $7.99. The pricey Lola Fries ($3.99) were greasy and salty with no hint of Rosemary (disappointing). Thankfully, we only splurged on one order to share. Love the idea of the Free Pickle Bar. The $1.59 charge for a thimble full of coleslaw for my foodie Hubby's Veggie Burger really set him off. The server was friendly and courteous and tried to make up for it with another thimble full, but being in the business, he couldn't get past the $18/lb charge for cabbage. Not sure we would bother to make the trek again.

Burgers are good, sides are good, beer list is good. However on every trip the beer menu is inaccurate. Beers are listed that they do not have. The servers know very little about the beers and cannot actually tell you what is on tap since the beer menu is wrong. Multiple Frustrating experiences.

Stopped by with 3 friends based on a good write-up in the local paper. The atmosphere is reasonably nice, but loud. Two out of the four burgers we ordered arrived very overdone. They were returned, and the replacements weren't much better. Toppings and pickle bar are great. The Lola Fries were very good. Lots of good beer selections, and some interesting drinks on the menu. I would rate this place much higher, but several really annoying things need to be mentioned; 1) our server seemed very confused and had trouble explaining the menu items to us and getting our order correct, 2) the staff seems to be constantly barking at each other, and there is an underlying feeling of "stress" everywhere. This is definately an "eat and go" kind of place. Not a good place to chill out and enjoy a nice conversation. 3) The food, while good, is very expensive for the portion sizes, and 4) it just gives me a feeling of general disorganization, as if they are trying to figure out how to run the restaurant while they are serving food. This trendy place could be a lot better with some improvements in the overall management and organization. I don't mind paying a premium price for a good burger, but I also expect that my order is filled correctly, better service and a relaxing visit for that kind of money. Hopefully it will improve over time.

The onion rings were good. My burger was a bit dry. Over cooked for medium well. Flavor of meat was meh. Red Robin is better. I met with some friends and enjoyed the company but it was super noisey and difficult to hear the conversation. We all felt like we were shouting. I won't be going back.

My husband and I went here for the first time after hearing about it on the show The Chew, my husband is a big foodie so we drove 50 minutes to get there. The look and feel of the restaurant was very unique and nice. I loved the free pickle bar which was a unique touch. My husband ordered their Lola burger and I ordered the bacon cheeseburger, after trying them we realized their was nothing unique about them. We actually preferred Red Robin. It wasn't a bad experience but one place we won't drive 50 minutes again to have.

Went here for dinner on a Thursday night. The wait for a table was extremely long, but once we sat down, we got our food fairly quickly. The restaurant is fairly small on the inside. I had the Fat Doug burger and my friend had the Fun Guy. They were both good - not what I would call amazing, but definitely good. We also ordered the onion rings which were overcooked and nothing to write home about. They were also kind of pricey ($7). As others have mentioned, the pickle bar is a nice touch. Our server was ok, but a little frenzied. I was never able to get her attention to get a drink refill. Overall, I would go back, but wouldn't go out of my way or endure an extreme wait time to eat there again.

Delicious! We stopped in on a Saturday afternoon (family of 5, parents + 3 teens) to watch the ballgame and have lunch. We have eaten at other B spot locations (out of state) so, kinda knew what we were in for and looking forward to it. We don't typically sit at the bar with our kids but it worked for us this time and we are so glad. I believe the bartenders name is Aaron - he was terrific! We ordered half of the menu and he handled us with ease, chatted up about the B spot, ballgame, etc...very professional, very personable. Every business wants employees like this one. Good atmosphere, great lunch, great service!

I've been to B-Spot Burgers twice now and I can say I'm very impressed. The decor is urban rustic and yet small enough to not overwhelm you. The two most impressive parts of my experience were the service and the food. Both times the wait staff was fast, engaging, and yet not that annoying intimacy you often find in casual restaurants Food was very good, and delivered hot and quickly. You do pay for the Michael Simon name, a little pricy, but I didn't feel cheated and the creative high quality burgers mad it worth the cost. I will definitely go there again.

Omg didn't have time to grab one of the great beers they have on tap to pair with our amazing Mr. Porky beer brat but I know that will make it all that much more of an amazing experience. Great place for a quick beer and bite to eat. We came here on a whim last minute and my boyfriend and I both agreed we will be returning as soon as we can to try more! Deeelish!!

Wanted to try Michael Symon's new B Spot restaurant. Very disappointed. Below average food and service, high prices. Ordered a burger medium. Came back bloody. Waiter argued with me on how their medium burger is cooked more rare. My husband ordered medium and got medium. Waiter wanted to throw my burger back on grill after condiments were put on and it was cut in half! After finally agreeing to making me a new burger, they served me a cold over-cooked burger 20 minutes after my husband was finished with his meal! No discount was given, and the waiter choked out a small apology when I was writing in the tip! And the much hyped pickle bar was a joke. It was a little cart with no plate to put your pickles on. You had to wait for your burger, then bring it up to the bar. None of my party would go back or recommend this restaurant.

I almost never review a place, but I had to after a very disappointing lunch at the B Spot Burger place. The flavor was not bad (not great, just ok), but the value was sad. To sum it up: - A $10.00 burger that was extremely tiny (think Jr. burger size at any other place) - Add $4.00 for fries (No they don't include anything but pickles with the $10 Jr burger) - $2.50 for a soda and then tip. After $20 a piece for lunch, my coworkers and I ate an ok sandwich & left hungry. (We actually stopped by another place for dessert and to feel satisfied.) If you have money to burn and you've had your stomach stapled, this may be your place. If you need to satisfy a deep hunger, find a better option.

Good beer. Bartenders were courteous and recommended food and beer. I ordered a burger medium and it came out well done, sent it back. The second one was even more overcooked. The server (bartender) talked to the manager and took it off the check. Also, the second one was missing toppings (red onion). Cool overrated place. Would not go back!

it was a good place, it was kind of pricey, but what do you expect when you are at a gourmet burger place. I might try it again but it depends on how much I feel like spending on a burger that day.

meh I've had better. even having Michael symon greet guests won't save this place. burgers were over cooked and a little cold. for 5 burgers small fries, no drinks and a salad our bill ended up over $90! that's just not A good value. I predict 1-1.5 yrs before it closes.

great food, great service. busy, but they text you when your table is ready which is pretty cool. prices are a little high especially since you have to pay for the burger and fries separately when the fries are a typically small portion.

This is one of those trendy looking places, where everything looks cheap but you pay 1.50 for each topping on your $7 burger next to your $7 shake. More importantly, they didn't accommodate my request to substitute a prebuilt burger with a veggie patty which is priced less. They have no prebuilt veggie burgers so this seems reasonable as I do it all the time at burger places. Irritating, loud, visit. Good shakes though.

Not really impressed. Place is way too small - wasn't greeted at the door, no place to stand and wait for table. Burgers were good - not great. Onion Rings were house made but over cooked and too breaded. All wait people seemed to be talking from script - three different people told me that I just had to try coffee BBQ sauce with my OR. Skinny fries were ok but price for size of order was too much. Milkshakes were small and $7. Red knapps much better and 1/2 the price for twice the food. I expected much more from this place!

I just finished my birthday dinner and I couldn't be happier! I read the reviews and was a little skeptical. However, those that gave poor reviews need to come back. The burger is not huge, so get the notion of a typical, covering the whole plate burger, out of your head. It is a perfect dinner sized burger. We each had a burger, split Lola fries, and had a beer. I am full...and I am fat! The burger was cooked to perfection and the flavors were outstanding! I ordered the Atomic and before I ordered it, I asked how hot it was. The staff said that the name was deceiving. It's like ordering Thai food with medium heat. Personally, I thinks it's a little hitter than that, but by asking a simple question, I learned that it isn't crazy hot. Is it loud? ABSOLUTELY! When was the last time you went to a quiet burger joint? This is a must stop for burger lovers. Thank you Michael Symon for opening a stellar burger joint close to my home.

Went to bspot earlier today to celebrate my bday. Place was dead on an early Sunday afternoon.. should have taken that as a warning. But I absolutely love Michael Symon and was really looking forward to trying this place. Our waitress was friendly enough and we ordered pretty quick. I got the yo! Burger and Lola fries. Fries were amazing. I was very disappointed with the burger. I swear the burger patties must be frozen. Liked the Sasha sauce but other than that it was hard to choke down with all the bread and hardly any meat. I only ate half. A friend ordered the orange Creamsicle shake and that was really good. He also ordered onion rings which were burnt. He also didn't finish his burger. My cousin ordered a byob and didn't like it.. also didn't finish. Another friend got the fat boy and fries and she said the burger was ok. Really bummed out. I was expecting great things. Won't be back.

My wife tonight drove 45 minutes to check out this new restaurant. there was no line and we were advised that there was a 15 to 20 minute wait. What the heck we were first in line and we're anxious to try the burgers. Other people arrived and we're getting seated at the bar or outside. We don't drink so we didn't want to sit at the bar or sit on stools and it looks like was about to rain so we did not want to be outside. We patiently stood in the foyer waiting to be called for a table to opened up. We were surprised to see other people getting seated every time a table opened up. Even thoght we were supposedly the first in line. finally there was a booth by the window that opened up that I was sure was going to be ours. But again the hostesses just looked at us and called other people. I finally approached the hostess counter and ask them what the deal was and they quickly stated that I was about to be called next and pointed at some small dark two top in the corner . I have them contact the manager on duty and I explain to him the situation. While I was speaking with him the to hostess just laughed and smirked. Explain to the manager how unprofessional I thought those two hostesses were. We felt very uncomfortable in the atmosphere that we did not want to eat there. Very poor customer service I hate to leave a bad rating but I only give it when its deserved . We looked on YELP for another burger place we had not tried and found "Burgrz" across the street and it was great. By the way it rained 15 minutes after we left B spot .
